"The Commission of Bishops and Presbyters appointed by the General Convention of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America to draw up Marginal Readings for the English Version of the Bible, and empowered by the General Convention of 1901 to print a Bible or Bibles containing the same, hereby certify that this edition of the Bible contains the Marginal Readings adopted by the General Convention, and allowed to be used in churches at the discretion of the minister in reading the Lessons from Holy Scripture in Morning and Evening Prayer."
