Ramón José Sender Garcés (Chalamera, 3 de febrero de 1901-San Diego, 16 de enero de 1982) fue un escritor y periodista español. Entre sus novelas se encuentran títulos como Imán, Míster Witt en el cantón (Premio nacional de literatura en 1935), Réquiem por un campesino español y Crónica del alba. Participó en la guerra civil desde el bando republicano; su primera esposa Amparo Barayón y su hermano Manuel Sender fueron fusilados por las fuerzas sublevadas, en Zamora y Huesca, respectivamente. A su término partió al exilio, estableciéndose en México y, desde 1942, en Estados Unidos.
