They even veil the destruction it brings with false oblivion, and refuse to reach out for the only thing that can save them. Immediately, it began subduing cities, building armies, and erecting temples to receive worship from those who had been conquered. Among them is Luke, whose powers may rival those of Vastimus, and a beautiful young woman, Laxa, whose magic is rare compared to the normal populace. She also seems to be the only one capable of quelling the fiery temper of Luke. The group finds themselves being used like pieces of a game by forces too fearsome to oppose. With cryptic instructions as their only guidance, they are compelled to overcome their weaknesses and eventually to face those who would call themselves gods.
