Gerhard "Gad" Beck was an Israeli-German resistance member and survivor of the Holocaust. He was both gay and Jewish, but he survived the war while living in Berlin and organizing underground refugees. After the war, he emigrated to Israel and met his partner, Julius Laufer, who would be with him until his death in 2012. In 1979, he moved back to Berlin and became an educator.
