Second part of the memoirs of a Jew born in 1930 in Kalisz, Poland. The first part, "A Square of Sky" (1964), describes the family's life in the Warsaw ghetto between 1940-43; the second part starts off in September 1943, eight months after David was smuggled out of the ghetto. She found refuge with family friends in Warsaw, but was sent to a Catholic convent when it became dangerous to stay in their home. Describes her life in various convents between 1943-45 and the constant fear of being discovered. She converted to Catholicism of her own will. After the war she returned to Kalisz, but discovered that her parents had perished. The details of their deaths were unknown.
