William and Donna are both born in Dublin on the same day, in the same maternity hospital, but there the similarities end. William's mother is a driven solicitor who wants her son to follow in her footsteps; Donna's single mum, Janice, struggles to get through the day. It would seem that their paths in life are set. But destiny has other ideas. Will knows that he has to set himself free from the weight of his parents' expectations, and Donna understands that her flair for creating delicious cakes is the key to a new and better life. Both on their separate paths, they find themselves travelling far from home in search of freedom and a new life. And then, one day, Donna is flicking through brochures in a tourist office in New Zealand, and in walks Will. Their meeting lasts five minutes, but there's something there, both of them know it. And then disaster strikes ... perhaps some things are just not meant to happen.

Work Description
William and Donna were born on the same day and in the same hospital, but they couldn't be more different. Will grew up in an affluent suburb and struggles to balance what he wants with what will keep his overbearing mother happy. Donna had a difficult childhood--she was raised by her older sister. She often wonders what her life would be like without her troubled mother around. Throughout their young lives, Will and Donna almost meet many times but it seems fate is keeping them apart. But then everything changes when tragedy strikes them both. As Will tries to come to terms with a life-shattering event, he decides to travel the world in the hope of finding happiness. Donna, feeling alone in the world, makes plans to leave Dublin to follow a dream she never thought she could achieve. More than 10,000 miles away from their homes, fate finally allows them to meet, until a terrible disaster tears them apart once again. They're left with the memory of the brief time they had together and the dreams of what might have been, and the question--is fate pushing them toward one another or keeping them apart?
