Cataloged 2015 jmoschella

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy bound in ca. late 19th-/early 20th-century calf panelled in gilt. The words "Caxtons type" are stamped in gilt on the upper cover. The spine is panelled and tooled in gilt. The armorial bookplate of Chandos Leigh is present on the front pastedown. A bookseller's description is laid onto the verso of the front free endpaper. A presentation inscription from William G. Shillabler to George E. Littlefield is present on the recto of the front flyleaf, along with a clipping from The Bibliographer. The title page is reattached to a stub. This copy is annotated heavily with early marginalia in various secretary hands. The second part, containing the second signature series A-C, is wanting.
