The collection contains music, including holograph and copyist manuscripts, printed scores, orchestral parts, lyric sheets, and sketches of Gould's compositions and arrangements; correspondence from friends and associates, including items from notable public figures, performers, and composers such as Leonard Bernstein, Ernest Bloch, Bill Clinton, Agnes DeMille, Percy Grainger, Ronald Reagan, Jerome Robbins, Artur Rodzinski, and Nicolas Slonimsky; business papers, including comprehensive G. Schirmer works lists that identify Gould's published and unpublished arrangements; writings by and about Gould; photographs; scrapbooks; programs, clippings, and promotional materials related to his career; and financial and legal documents.
