“Never Hang Wallpaper With Your Wife” is a humorous look, from a guy’s point of view, at home renovations, decorating and home repairs, and how it can affect the relationship of a husband and wife. It is liberally sprinkled with handy-tips and do-it-yourself information.
All of the information presented here is gleaned from the experiences of Michael Hammar. Hammar, now retired and living in British Columbia, was one of Canada’s earliest home improvement experts. His experience and knowledge, gained over nearly fifty-five years in the field, is shared with you, the reader, in a way sure to make you laugh and think.
When asked if he really is an expert in the DIY field he says, ”According to one dictionary an expert is ‘one who has great knowledge or skill in a particular area’. But in the words of my former wife, Betty, ‘in the case of Michael Hammar, I think an expert is a person who has done something wrong so many times, has finally found the right way, and now wants to be paid to tell people about it’.”
The information given to you in this book is from Hammar’s own experience as well as that of friends, family and his audiences on radio, television and at home shows. There are dozens of innovative handy-tips and ideas on how-to and how not-to.
This book is funny and at the same time very informative with down to earth stories and ideas.

Work Description
Never hang Wallpaper With Your Wife is a book relating the author's experiences of over fifty years in the DIY field. Michael C. Hammar is the stage name of William (Bill) Peckham. Peckham was, for thirty years, a radio broadcaster with the first weekly call-in home improvement radio show in Canada, 1971 to 2000. The stories in the book are from Peckham's own experience and projects with his wife. The handy tips come from trial and error as a home handyman and from listeners to his radio show.
