Work Description

This is a video game review book for the games appearing on the Nintendo 64 {N64}. It reviews every game released for the system, as well as gives a rating for each game. It has screenshots for each game, and reviews many different accessories for the system. There are interviews, and a explanation of the system's history, from its development, to the 64DD {Disk Drive}, and the end of the system. It was first publish in French, under the title "Nintendo 64 Anthologie", in two versions "Edition Classique", and the "Edition Collector" which was limited to 2000 copies. Then after a successful Kickstarter campaign, a translation into English was published. The English version was released in 3 formats, a "Classic" version, a "Collector Edition", and a "Box Art Collection Pack". The standard edition is the "Classic" version. The "Collector Edition" features a special section, adding additional pages at the end of the book, reproducing various video game advertisements, the book came in a slipcase, and featured a different cover. The "Box Art Collection Pack", came in a custom slipcase, features the "Collector Edition" book, along with a bonus book "Nintendo 64 Anthology: The Box Art Collection", which features photographs of the different art from the various region's packaging. It was limited to 550 copies {even though the Kickstarter page said "500 copies"}, the "Collector's Edition" book that came as part of the set, featured a numbered card glued to the opposite page from the title page. The English version was published to coincide with the 20th Anniversary of the launch of the system. The original French, and English versions have different introductory "Preface", and "Foreword" messages. There are interviews of Martin Hollis of the Rareware company, and Eric Caen of the Titus Interactive company. "The Box Art Collection" Pack, limited edition book features 132 pages of box art, of video game boxes in alphabetical order.
