An edition of Crossing with the Light (1992)

Crossing with the Light

This is poet Dwight Okita's only book of poetry. It contains "In Response to Executive Order 9066," which is one of the most anthologized and reprinted poems about the Japanese American internment camps. There are also poems relating to the author's identity as a gay man. "Where the Boys Were" is a response to the AIDS crisis. There are three to the book: "Men in Love" "To Walk Across a Rooms" and "Family Resemblances." Okita's poem "Notes for a Poem on Being Asian American" was reprinted in the Norton Introduction to Literature. Okita also writes novels. "Prospect of My Arrival" is available in paper and kindle. http://dwightland.homestead.com
