This is a British pronuciation (the "received pronuciation") textbook for Polish speakers. Accompanied by two audio cassettes (ca. 60' each) with aural/oral exercises, recorded by British native speakers. The book delivers a very systematic outline of British phonetics "for dummies" i.e. for pre/intermediate & advanced learners who are NOT linguists. In my opinion the book is very good. Example: when I studied in English at the KU Leuven in Belgium, I met a Senegal guy (he had already been an M.Sc.) who could hardly speak any English. He knew the grammar quite well but was virtually unable to communicate in the language. I lent him the book (with the exercise cassettes) and after some 2 months he was a miracle -- I could talk with him: he understood me, and I understood him! And he DIDN'T know any Polish. Thus, the book proved very effective also in the case of a non-Polish speaker.
