Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Maria Weston Chapman requests to borrow a portrait of William Lloyd Garrison now in the possession of Robert Purvis in order to have an engraving made of it. Chapman discusses the style in which she wants to have the engraving done.

In a postscript, Chapman offers to have additional copies of the Liberty Bell printed for the Philadelphia fair, at Philadelphia's expense.
