This letter by William Lloyd Garrison was printed in the April 3, 1879, issue of the newspaper, The Commonwealth, Kansas.
William Lloyd Garrison congratulates F. G. Adams, Secretary, Kansas State Historical Society, on the formation of the historical society. He urges the Society to accumulate and preserve papers relating to the "abolition of the dreadful system of chattel slavery" and the history of the struggle in Kansas.
