One of the most interesting books about how to teach chess is the manual written by International Master Tom O'Donnell and produced by the Chess Federation of Canada. The purpose of this manual is to encourage the playing of chess by young people. It is not necessary for the teacher using this manual to be a good chess player. He even doesn't have to be a chess player at all. The manual is mainly intended to learn chess to beginners, but also contains information about running a chess tournament. This manual if one of the best free chess manual that may be used at teaching kids (at school, home or a chess club). It covers all of the basics and short introduction to the most important things you should know about tournament chess.
