Eduardo Mendoza

Eduardo Mendoza Garriga (Barcelona, 11 de enero de 1943) es un escritor español, uno de los más reconocidos y galardonados de su país. Aunque su principal género literario es la novela, Mendoza ha escrito también ensayos y relatos. En 2010 recibió el premio Planeta por su novela Riña de gatos. Madrid 1936 y en 2016 el Premio Cervantes, el más alto galardón en lengua castellana.

Entre sus novelas se encuentran La verdad sobre el caso Savolta (Seix Barral, 1975), que obtuvo el Premio de la Crítica; El misterio de la cripta embrujada (Seix Barral, 1979); El laberinto de las aceitunas (Seix Barral, 1982); La ciudad de los prodigios (Seix Barral, 1986); La isla inaudita (Seix Barral, 1989); y Sin noticias de Gurb (Seix Barral, 1991). En colaboración con su hermana Cristina escribió la obra Barcelona modernista (Planeta, 1989). Es autor de la obra teatral en catalán Restauració (Seix Barral, 1990), que él mismo tradujo al castellano (Restauración, Seix Barral, 1991).

Eduardo Mendoza Garriga (Barcelona, January 11, 1943) is a Spanish writer, one of the most recognized and awarded in his country. Although his main literary genre is the novel, Mendoza has also written essays and stories. In 2010 he received the Planeta award for his novel Riña de gatos. Madrid 1936 and in 2016 the Cervantes Prize, the highest award in the Spanish language.
