Dr. Dean C. Dauw is a former Roman Catholic priest now working as a clinical sexologist. In 1959, after thirteen years of seminary training, he became a priest. In 1964, just before he received his doctorate in psychology from the University of Minnesota, his superiors in the church vetoed his education, and he left the priesthood. In 1965 he founded the first sex therapy clinic in Chicago, Sexual Enrichment Counseling Services Ltd. He currently works as a clinical sexologist. He has written over a hundred research articles for professional journals and 16 books, including the best-selling The Stranger in Your Bed: A Guide to Emotional Intimacy co-authored with Tom and Joan Watts.
