Work Description
Nanami is a child who has two grandmothers, one from Maine, and one from Japan. Nanami takes them gathering for wakame (seaweed), and translates for both of them while they talk. By the end of the book, the two grandmothers realize they have a lot more in common than they thought, even though their countries fought against each other in World War II.
