Akif Pirinçci

20. Oktober 1959 -

Akif Pirinçci (*1959) wurde in Istanbul, Türkei geboren und lebt heute als freier Schriftsteller in Bonn. Er wurde durch seine Katzen-Kriminalromane, beginnend mit Felidae (1989), international bekannt.

Seit 2012 betätigt er sich als gesellschaftspolitischer Kommentator und als Redner bei rechtspopulistischen und islamfeindlichen Veranstaltungen. Pirinçci wurde wegen strafrechtlich relevanter Äußerungen sechs Mal verurteilt, unter anderem wegen Volksverhetzung, und mindestens einmal zivilrechtlich wegen Schmähkritik.
