I have this book copyrighted 1938. It is the third copywriting, though. The first was 1924, the second 1935 and the third in 1938. It is done in black and white and I found it quite interesting. It is an instruction book for the painter in those times. Because I am an artist now it has its lighter moments. In all fairness, though, the basic principals remain the same today as in 1938. I love the book. I wish I had a 1924 copy also.

Feedback?February 10, 2012 | Edited by 71.54.122.203 | I am doing a painting in color from his book. My aunt has also done the same painting in color in the 1940's. Fun to read and study. |
