This is a thoroughly ecletic race relations study as a whole, yet a kind of order does emerge. An analysis of the data from the three areas [ two big London boroughs and a Northern city in England-all with a mixed community] shows that interesting general trends emerge which points to the future for serious consideration in the area of race relations in Britain.
Although the report was republished in 1982 demand from the field indicate its relevance to any serious study of community relations work. The issues raised in it then are still bedevilling race relations work in the field, and as a history it is still important.
