Josef Gassler

Josef Gassler was born in Austerlitz, Moravia, 1893 and died in Vienna, 1978. He worked in Paris, Prague, Vienna and Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic). As a student at the Wiener Kunstakademie, he won several prizes including Rome Prize. He exhibited in Salon des Independants, the Sezession, the Kuenstlerhaus, the Rudolfinum in Prague and in private galleries. Recipient of Golden Laurel Award from Wiener Kuenstlerhaus. Designed for Moser Porcelain and Glass.

Gassler's work is to be found in the Oesterreichische Galerie in Vienna and in private collections in Austria, Germany, England and the US.

He is now represented by Galerie Walfischgasse, Vienna.
