Marjorie Grene, a leading philosopher and historian of science and professor at the University of California, Davis, states that "It is a religion of science that Darwinism chiefly held, and holds men's minds. The modified, but still characteristically Darwinian theory has itself become an orthodoxy, preached by its adherents with religious fervor, and doubted, they feel, only by a few muddlers, imperfect in scientific faith." Having challenged the dogmatic humanistic religion of evolutionism, creation scientists have endured scathing denunciation by the adherents of this world view. Within the pages of many volumes of anti-creationist books, evolutionists have risen to the defense of their beloved theory while denouncing the views, the objectivity, and even the honesty of creation scientists. As founders of the Institute for Creation Research and early combatants (especially Henry Morris) in the creation/evolution controversy, Henry Morris (Ph.D., University of Minnesota) and Duane Gish (Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley), have often been the highly visible targets of evolutionists. In this book, Duane Gish, the author, who has faced evolutionists in almost 300 debates, reviews the history of the controversy, and critiques and challenges the attacks of evolutionists against the theory of special creation and its proponents. He evaluates the major arguments for and against special creation and evolution and defends creation scientists against the distorted, inaccurate, and often vicious attacks of evolutionists. This book provides a fascinating account of this present-day battle of those holding opposing world views and attendant interpretations of the scientific evidence concerning origins. - Back cover.
