This book includes several origami that have been around for literally ages. Please remember that when people in olden times thought up some new origami, they naturally used subject matter from their era. So in the same way, since simply passing along tried and true patterns in not terribly exciting, I encourage you to modernize them, and make things interesting to you in terms of your own present time in history.
