He carefully examines the chief critical issues in the study of this fascinating document, including the literary integrity of the work and its original Jewish or Christian authorship.
He then proceeds to offer an interpretation of 3 Baruch as both a Jewish and Christian text. His study succeeds in situating 3 Baruch within post-70 Hellenistic Judaism and in clarifying the early Christian interest in adapting, editing, and transmitting the work.
