Chiefly (beginning on 1b) the "Argument" of R. Burrell's defending counsel (unnamed).
The case concerns payments that according to the plaintiff John Donne (not the poet) ought to have been made to him, by virtue of the statute of 37 Hen. 8, cap. 12, from monies paid to R. Burrell in addition to the amounts designated as rent for the lease in 1612 of his house to W. Gough.

Written in England, in a utilitarian cursive, 29 lines to a page, probably all by one scribe.
Watermark: double candlesticks with grape.
