Title pages to v. 1, 2 and 4 and dedication leaf (v. 1) are engraved.

A third vol. was added in 1725 (re-issued in 1731), and a 4th and 5th, a continuation by Woolfe and Gandon, in 1767.

A reissue of v. 1-3, probably in 1767. In this issue, the imprints have been erased from engraved t.p. of v. 1-2 (published originally 1715-1717), and the subscription list to v. 1 is absent.

Vol. 3 has special t.p.: The third volume of Vitruvius britannicus, or, The British architect, containing the geometrical plans of the most considerable gardens and plantations, also the plans, elevations, and sections of the most regular buildings, not published in the first and second volumes ... London, 1731.

RBSC copy: Vol. 3, plates 3-6, v. 4, plates 42, 49-50 and 76 wanting. Vol. 4, plate 52 in duplicate. With the armorial bookplate of Coll. Jon. Mackenzie [Franks 19288].
