In June 2008, Ben Cunningham and five friends set out to cycle from Alaska to Argentina on the Pan-American Highway, the world's longest continuous land route. Along the way they encountered the kindness of strangers, run-ins with the law, and sometimes gangsters. In Ireland, the expedition generated national interest, aiming to complete the journey in nine months and raise money for charity.
