Edition Notes
Ritter 1474; Rép. 16. s., v. 15, p. 50.
Rép. 16. s., v. 15, p. 50.
At head of title: Contenta.
The titles of the Greek selections (Oratio Dominica through Phocylides) are followed on t.p. by the statement: Omnia haec cum tralatione Latina.
Published anonymously. The author of the first 2 selections is Aldo Manuzio the Elder, who published the contents, except for the final selection (of which he is also the author?), as an appendix to Constantinus Lascaris' Erotēmata, 1495. His authorship is inferred from the pref. to the 1495 appendix, not reprinted here. Manuzio reprinted this collection, with the addition of Introductio perbrevis ad Hebraicam linguam, as an appendix to his Rudimenta grammatices Latinae linguae, 1501. Cf. Annales de l'impr. des Alde / A.A. Renouard. 2. éd. Vol. 1, p. 4 and p. 75.
Has been wrongly attributed to Johann Setzer, author of a dedicatory letter in the present ed.
Imprint from colophon. Supplied date from Répertoire bibliographique.
Signatures: A-E⁴.
The Greek texts are printed interlinearly with their Latin translations.
