Mennonite Brethren Mission History in Japan: hokubei MB ni yoru nihon senkyou—sono rekishi to hyouka, authored by Robert Enns, Ph.D., and Robert Lee, Ph.D., is an adapted and translated version of Robert Enns’s Christian Mission and Earthen Vessels: Mennonite Brethren Missions in Japan: The Early Years. Part One provides a brief history of Christian mission. Part Two presents summaries of some of the major developments in the early history of the MB mission in Japan. The Japanese version includes an evaluation written by Dr. Robert Lee in 1997; a statement of “Vision” written by Laurence and Leona Hiebert, also in 1997; and brief letters written by former MB missionaries in Japan, Dr. Harry Friesen and Philip Hamm. The book was published as part of the celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Japan Mennonite Brethren Conference. The translator was Dr. Hironori Minamino.
