Companion DVD contains a documentary offering insights into Einstein on the Beach, through interviews with creators composer Philip Glass and director/designer Robert Wilson, who explain some of their structural choices and the concepts behind the opera. The film features rehearsal and performance footage from the 1984 production of the opera at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. It offers a look at the creative processes of two of the most important figures in American contemporary music and theatre, and examines the evolution of the performing arts
