Ever wonder if the man in your life who’s been incarcerated, turned to another with an alternative lifestyle for comfort? Meet Candy Sweets, a teenaged, pre-op transsexual who gets arrested and sent to federal prison, exactly one week before “her” scheduled sex-change operation. Still having male organs, Candy is housed with strong, masculine, handsome male inmates who haven’t touched a woman in years. Candy soon finds herself being caught in several love affairs with men having families, girlfriends and wives at home—waiting for them to be released. Yet, Candy doesn’t kiss and tell, she understands the code of silence: “What happens in prison stays in prison….”

CONVICT’S CANDY deals with sexual identity, prostitution and homosexuality within the prison system, the interactions and relationships between the inmates and officers, infidelity and most importantly, explains how the HIV/AIDS virus spreads rampantly within the prison. It also reveals how the dangerous and deadly disease is transmitted within society, when infected inmates are released to go home.

Excerpts

“Sweets, you’re in cell 1325—upper bunk,” the correctional officer indicated, as he’d instructed Candy on which cell to report to. When she’d heard “upper bunk”, Candy wondered who’d be occupying the cell with her. As Candy grabbed her bedroll and headed towards the cell, located near the far end of the tier, and away from the officer’s desk and sight, butterflies had grown deep inside of her stomach; as Candy had become overwhelmed with nervousness. She’d tried hard to camouflage her fear.

This was Candy’s first time in prison and she’d been frightened, forcefully trapped in terror against her will. Candy had become extremely horrified, especially when her eyes met directly with Trigger’s, the young, hostile thug she’d accidentally bumped into, as Candy was placed inside the holding cell. Trigger rudely shoved Candy when she’d first arrived to the facility.

“THE FUCK YOU LOOKIN’ AT, HOMO?” Trigger spat, embarrassed that Candy had looked at him. Trigger immediately wondered if she’d been able to detect that something was different about him and his masculinity. Trigger then hoped that Candy hadn’t gotten any ideas that he might’ve been attracted to her, since Candy had caught him staring hard at her.

Candy then quickly turned her face in the opposite direction, she’d wanted desperately not to provoke Trigger, as the thought of getting beat down by him, instantly had come to Candy’s mind. She couldn’t exactly figure out the young thug, although Candy thought she might’ve had a clue as to why Trigger displayed so much anger and hatred towards her. Yet, this hadn’t been the time to come to any conclusions, as Candy was more concerned with whom she’d be sharing the cell with.

When Candy reached cell 1325, she’d glanced twice at the number printed above on the door, and made sure she was at the right cell before entering. Candy then peeped inside the window to see if anyone was there.
