Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Charles William Storey thanks Caroline Weston for sending him an invitation to the [anti-slavery] fair. He believes that Caroline will find the public interest in her enterprise at least twice as great as last year. Storey says: "The Latimer case has excited a most unexpected degree of anti slavery feeling in the class of people who came under my observation more particularly." Dr. Whipple told Storey that he obtained the signatures of about 60 lawyers for the great petition.
