Edition Notes
Holograph, signed.
In this letter, Jane Wigham mentions the contribution of items to the anti-slavery fair by Sarah Hilditch and her sister. She thinks a description of the fair and a direct appeal for aid would help in obtaining contributions. Marking prices on the merchandise is the most disagreeable and difficult part of preparing the contributions for the fair. Jane Wigham says: "We have been grieved to hear such poor accounts of the health of dear W. L. Garrison---and fervantly desire that it may please his Divine Master to restore it and prolong his valuable life for many years." George Thompson has been ordered by his doctor to take a complete rest.
