Edition Notes

Holograph, signed with initials.

There are two letters by William Lloyd Garrison to James Manning Winchell Yerrinton. Yerrinton was a newspaper reporter. The letter with Call No. Ms.2339 (1) is dated Oct. 18, 1854. Garrison writes that he is unable to come to the office this morning and asks Yerrinton to see what has come in the mail. Garrison spent last evening at Francis Jackson's and had no time to prepare his article. Garrison gives instructions about printing the Liberator.

The letter with Call No. Ms.2339 (2) is dated Feb. 26, [1854]. William Lloyd Garrison writes: "I think we must try, if possible, to get the proceedings in Congress, long as they are, inserted in this week's Liberator---to the omission of Mr. Child's letter, if necessary." Garrison gives instructions about printing the Liberator and says that the article about the "hearing of the Women at Albany" must be omitted this week.
