In this letter, Samuel May, Jr., informs Maria Weston Chapman that the printers are waiting for her proof and also for the paper. Dr. [John Gorham] Palfrey brought in his corrected proof this morning. Samuel May said: "Mr. Garrison promises a 'Bell' article between now & Monday." ["Slavery in Massachusetts," by the Hon. John G. Palfrey was printed in the Liberty Bell for 1858, p. 3-5. This volume of the Liberty Bell contains no contribution by William Lloyd Garrison.]
