Edition Notes
Holograph.
The ship, Columbus, could not sail today. As a result of this delay, they will probably not arrive in time for the opening of the World's Convention. If Garrison is present at the convention, the "woman question" will be brought up. Lucretia Mott is among the delegates appointed by the American Anti-Slavery Society. George Bourne is against women's rights. William Lloyd Garrison meditates on his love for his wife and children. He is distressed by the poor health of his brother James; Garrison prays that James repents. Nathaniel P. Rogers and William L. Garrison were hospitably entertained at Mrs. Truesdell's. Garrison addressed an audience of black people in Theodore S. Wright's meetinghouse.
The bottom of this manuscript was damaged, with a few sentences missing on all four pages of this letter including Garrison's signature.
