This is a source for genealogy of the people of Amherst Island, but one which goes beyond births and deaths. It focuses on 1900. The children who were born between 1878 and 1896 formed the core of the generation which saw what they called, "The Turn of the Century" (January 1st, 1900). This cohort of young people felt great optimism and excitement about the future. In 1900, they had no premonitions of World War One, which would end so many hopeful young lives.
