"In the last days," God says, "I will pour out my spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy . . . Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour my spirit in those days and they will prophesy" (Acts 2:17-18).

Careful examination of both Old and New Testament texts sheds insight on this very timely and controversial topic. The struggle in the church is in how to understand the Bible correctly in the midst of changes in society and in the context of diverse interpretations of biblical texts. The intent of the book is to stimulate Bible Study and discussion about the role of women in church ministry.

The authors, both men and women, are teachers within the larger Mennonite Brethren church.
