This isn't strictly a pattern book as you probably think of it -- it contains mostly illustrations of needlework made from patterns that could be purchased from the publisher. (There is a page of "instructions" for stitches used, but those are pretty sketchy.) Most of the designs would not be easy to duplicate from the illustrations (such as the "raised" or surface embroidery from transfers, or the embroidered net designs) but the counted bands and motifs (largely 17th-18th century-style work) are the exception; if you know how to read a counted-work or cross-stitch chart, you wouldn't have too much trouble duplicating them.
