Gabriel McKenzie was conceived one night in October 1967 in Santiago de Chile - exactly when, his mother claims, Che Guevara was being buried hundreds of miles north in Bolivia. The next day, his father, Cristobal, made a wild bet with his best friend, Pablo Baron: Cristobal wagered that he would make love with a woman every night until his fiftieth birthday in 1992, while Pablo bet that by then he would be the most powerful man in Chile.
By 1991, Gabriel is a twenty-three-year-old virgin living in exile in New York. Traumatized by the presence of a Don Juan progenitor in Chile, Gabriel returns home to seek help from his father. But before he can lift the curse on his sex life, he must travel to the South Pole and solve the mystery of who is threatening the iceberg Pablo wants to carve out of Antarctica and tow to Seville to celebrate America's five hundred years.
