Book Details

First Sentence

"Medical and veterinary mycology (or 'mycopathology' as it is sometimes not very happily designated) is, essentially, the study of infectious disease in man and higher animals caused by fungi but, traditionally, it also includes diseases caused by actinomycetes (because these filamentous bacteria were at one time frequently classified as fungi) and allergic conditions induced by fungi and actinomycetes."
