This is a history retrospective, review, photographic gallery, catalogue of the 1252 software/games, and interview, exhibition book. It details the history of the Japanese exclusive Nintendo video game system the "Family Computer" (Famicom) {known as the Nintendo Entertainment System, in the rest of the world, when the system, and games were changed slightly; such as having their 60 pin cartridges enlarged to 72 pins for the NES cartridge}. It covers all the Japanese games released for the system, and its expansion "Famicom Disk System", as well as has color photographs of each of the games boxes, {except the Famicom Disk Writer}. There are also the occasional screenshots, but mostly it is a photographs of the games boxes in large groups, with many of the important games having photographs of their own, along with descriptive reviews of that game. For each game there is a release date, and the price it cost, as well as it's Japanese written title, and Romaji, or English title. The games are shown in chronological order. Besides the reviews, and descriptions of games, there are also interviews/articles with various video game producers explaining how they came to work on their most famous games. Lastly there is a title index, using the Katakana, Japanese writing system}. The book was produced by Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, it was a production of a company called "Blue Orange Stadium" a company that helps produce, direct, write, and edit books. The publisher was Ohta Publishing. It was published to coincide with the museum's "Video Game Exhibition - Level X", the books focus was on the "Family Computer 20th Anniversary" section of the exhibit. The event was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, {Later known as the "Tokyo Photographic Art Museum"} from "December 4, 2003 to February 8, 2004. First printing of this book is listed as being printed on December 18, 2003. It has 14 "Collaborating writers", and 8 interview articles. Each article is written in Japanese, and in English, with the help of two translators Maria Teresa Takako Yamamoto-Sato, and Akinori Nakamura. There is a "Thanks" section {listing various people and companies} and two of the ending sections "Comment of the Exhibition" {a notice by Computer Software Copyright Association (ACCS) about how they tried to credit the copyright holders for the games}, and "Epilogue" {list of other people that Yuki Deda would like to thank}, which are not translated into English, nor is the copyright page. The book originally cost 2500 Yen, and came with a half size blue OBI, and white dust jacket. The main cover of this paperback is red.
