Text begins: Examples of the use of -ing for -es, or generally the genitive singular--in the names of places ...
The notes include numerous quotations in Anglo-Saxon.
Written all in one hand, taken to be that of the author; no doubt in England.
Accessioned in LC June 23, 1945 (LL 5977D1).
Several intermediate pages are blank. Prelim. p. [1] and the last page are respectively verso and recto of leaves pasted to marbled free endpapers.
