Hijos de Adán (Children of Adam) y Cálamo (Calamus) son dos de las secciones añadidas al poemario Hojas de hierba (Leaves of Grass) en su tercera edición (1860). El libro incluye además otros relatos de Walt Whitman.

En Hijos de Adán Whitman canta al cuerpo, al amor, a la fecundidad y a la vida. Cálamo (nombre de una planta muy conocida en algunos lugares de América) celebra la camaradería universal y el amor entre todos los hombres.
