Edition Notes

Adams C-2667
Apparently issued in the 2 (unnumbered) physical volumes.
Based on the Roman edition of 1582 but without the gloss.
Vol. [1], with the general t.p. only, contains Gratian's Decree; v. [2], the remaining books.
The Decretals of Gregory have full special t.p. only: Decretales D. Gregorii Papae IX. : suae integritati restitutae. Parisiis, 1587. Cum licentia.
The Liber sextus shares special t.p. with other items: Liber sextus decretalium D. Bonifacii Papae VIII. : suae integritati, vna cum Clementinis et Extravagantibus, restitutus. Parisiis, 1587. Cum licentia.
Lancellotti's Institutes, appended to the Corpus juris canonici with official sanction in 1580, have full special t.p.: Institut. iuris canonici, quibus ius pontificium singulari methodo libris IV comprehenditur / a Ioan. Paulo Lancelotto Perusino conscriptae & in Aula Romana mandato Pont. Max. ab illustrib. viris olim recognitae ; nunc primùm annotatis in margine locis, vnde sumpti sunt. Parisiis, 1587. Cum privilegio Regis.
Ship device on all four title pages.
Vol. [1]: [52], 454, [2] p. (p. [455-456] blank); v. [2]: [14?], 459-727, [9], 731-885, 3, 72, [160] p.
The same woodcut (the pope in a frame with 14 portraits) appears in the Decretum and in the Liber sextus.
Signatures: [alpha]⁶ [beta-gamma]⁸ [delta]⁴ A-2P⁶; 2Q ²2Q-3O⁶ 3P⁴; *⁴ 3Q⁶-4D⁶(-3Q1) 4E⁸; a-l⁶ m⁴ n-t⁶ u⁴.
Errata list on p. [159] of the last group in v. 2 (sig. u4).
The entry in Adams lists the prelim. sig. [beta] as one of 6 leaves only, and the set he reports appears to lack Lancellotti's Institutes; they are, however, listed separately by entry L-104.
Includes indexes.
Contents below from verso of the general t.p.
LC set has the first sig. 2Q, with indexes to the Decretals of Gregory IX, bound at end.
