Oversized book, 11.5" x 16.25" with 50 photogravures in each volume (2 volume set). Considered the best of "modern" painting in the year 1888.

Photogravures by English, French, German, American, Spanish, Norwegion, Belgian artists each with a written description. Black and white photogravures. Many editions for sale have pages missing because the images have been removed and framed.
