Edition Notes

Attributed by Cushing to Nathan Hale. Sabin enters this anonyumous edition under title with the note, "Perhaps by Peter Thacher Vose", but quotes also an edition under Charles S. Daveis in which the author's name appears in the title. Williamson also, in his Bibliography of Maine, attributes this work to Daveis. It is edited and the appendix is signed by Peter Thacher Vose, geographer and map projector.
First published in the North American review, v. 34, 1832.
