The work, known also as Practica Papiensis, developed by accretion and comment from Ferrari's original collection of formulas used in civil, canonistic, and criminal procedures in early 15th cent.; the accumulated comments by various jurists are attached to lemmas of each formula.
Device on t.p.: in a mainly architectural frame, a bundle of arrows tied by scroll with the word Unitas; around the oval opening, motto: Concordia parva[e] res crescunt; cf. Zappella CCXXXc.
