Edition Notes
Two sketches by Lincoln combined into a single narrative, with minor changes, supplemented by autobiographical excerpts from Lincoln's letters and speeches, and editorial comments. The 1st sketch was originally prepared by him fro J. W. Fell in 1859 and the 2d, written in the 3d person, for J. L. Scripps in 1860.
"This special edition, limited to three hundred numbered and signed copies, is issued in honor of Miss Helen B. McKinstry, of Delavan, Illinois ... Number 284."
